Depalletizing line for empty cans and jars

The TACORE depalletizing line automatically supplies the cannery filling area with empty tinplate, aluminium or glass containers. Pallets of cans or jars are unloaded layer by layer by sweep discharge or with a magnetic or vacuum head, layer pads are removed, and containers are aligned and conveyed to the packing and dosing tables. This removes manual handling of empty containers and ensures a continuous supply to the canning line. Each depalletizer is designed around the container type, pallet height and available floor space.

How the line works

  1. 1

    Pallet infeed

The full pallet of empty containers enters the depalletizer on a roller or chain conveyor and is positioned so that the lifting system presents each layer at working height.

  2. 2

    Layer pad removal

Before each layer is unloaded, the cardboard or plastic layer pad is removed and placed in a magazine, so the operator does not need to intervene during the depalletizing cycle.

  3. 3

    Layer depalletizing

The container layer is transferred to the discharge table by sweeping, or picked up with a magnetic head for tinplate cans or a vacuum head for aluminium and glass, depending on the container.

  4. 4

    Alignment and conveying

Containers move from the discharge table onto a conveyor where they are aligned in single file and taken to the filling area, without scratching lacquers, denting bodies or damaging rims along the way.

  5. 5

    Packing line feed

Empty containers reach the packing tables and the dosing and seaming lines, which receive a continuous supply synchronized with their working pace, avoiding both shortages and container build-ups.

  6. 6

    Empty pallet outfeed

Once unloaded, the empty pallet is removed and stacked for reuse, and the depalletizer is ready to receive the next pallet without stopping the line.

Line advantages

  • Continuous supply of empty containers to the filling line, with no manual handling.
  • Sweep discharge or magnetic or vacuum head pick-up depending on the container.
  • Gentle conveying that protects lacquers, rims and lids.
  • Automatic layer pad removal and empty pallet outfeed.
  • Custom design for the container, pallet height and plant layout.

Species and formats

Suitable for fish, seafood and other food canneries that receive palletized empty containers: round, club, dingley or oval tinplate and aluminium cans, and glass jars. The line integrates with semi-automatic packing tables and dosing and seaming lines, and can be combined with end-of-line palletizing and case packing.

Frequently asked questions

Which depalletizing system suits my container?

+

It depends on material and format. Tinplate cans can be picked with a magnetic head, while aluminium and glass require a vacuum head or sweep discharge. TACORE studies each plant container and pallet pattern to recommend the most reliable system.

Can the depalletizer handle both cans and glass jars?

+

Yes. Depalletizers are designed for empty tinplate, aluminium and glass containers. When a plant works with several containers, the pick-up system and conveyors are configured to accept all the formats planned.

How is depalletizing integrated with the filling line?

+

Depalletized containers are aligned and conveyed to the packing tables and dosing and seaming lines. The depalletizer control is coordinated with the line so that supply stays continuous, without build-ups or stoppages.
